Privacy policy

Tumble ("we") makes the Tumble app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, and this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, or the identifier Apple or Google gives us when you sign in with them, and your name if you choose to add it.
Your pets and their records. What you add to the app: pet names, species, breed, age, weight, photos, training progress, play sessions, meals, walks, potty logs, health notes, medications, vaccines, vet details, documents and reminders. This is the core of the app, and it belongs to you.
Walks. While you record a walk, the app uses your device's location to draw the route. Location is used only during a walk you start, and the route is saved with that walk.
People who help. If you invite someone (a partner, sitter or dog walker), we store the invite and the access you chose for them, and show who logged each entry.
Devices. Push notification tokens so we can send the reminders you set, and tokens that let Siri and Apple Watch log to your account.
Purchases. If you subscribe or buy, Apple or Google handle the payment. We receive confirmation of what you bought so we can unlock it; we never see your card details.
This website. We don't use advertising trackers on this site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
How we use it
To run the app and sync it across your devices; to send reminders you asked for; to share records with people you invite or with your vet when you choose to; to keep accounts secure; and to fix bugs and improve the app. We do not sell your data and we do not use your pets' records for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run Tumble, under contracts that limit what they can do with it:
- Cloudflare hosts our servers, database, file storage and this website.
- Apple and Google for sign-in, purchases and push notifications.
- Our email provider sends sign-in codes and invites.
- Our map provider draws the walk map. It receives map requests from your device, not your pet records.
We share data with others only when you ask (a vet report link, an invite) or when the law requires it.
Sharing links and vet reports
A vet report or read-only link shows the records you picked to anyone who has the link, until it expires or you turn it off.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. If you delete your account (Settings, Delete account), we delete your data from our servers, apart from records we must keep by law (such as purchase records). Backups are cleared on a rolling basis.
Your choices and rights
You can view, edit and export your pets' records, change notification and location permissions in your device settings, and delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, or to object to how we use it. Write to us and we'll help.
Children
Tumble is for people looking after pets and is not directed at children under 13. Younger family members can help through a parent's account.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
