How to play
Crinkle a paper wad or store-bought cat sparkle ball to garner your cat's attention.
Toss the object just over your cat's head to the other person.
Toss back and forth, allowing your cat to leap up and snap the flying prey and heap on the praise when she does.
House rules
- Toss balls low enough for your cat to reach, just over their head.
- Rotate ball colors and textures to keep curiosity high.
- Make it easier
- Toss the ball gently with a low arc so your cat can easily track and snap it.
- Make it harder
- Vary the arc and tossing speed back and forth to give your cat athletic jumping challenges.
Signs it's having fun
Leaping in the air, batting the flying ball, perked ears, and alert tracking between tossers.
Stop if you see
Your cat loses interest or walks away. End the session and let your cat rest.
